Special Education

The purpose of the Individuals with Disabilities Education Act (IDEA) is to ensure that all children with disabilities have available to them a free appropriate public education that includes special education and related services to meet their unique needs. State and federal laws require teachers and administrators to work together with parents to create individualized education plans for children with disabilities. Students, who are identified as having a disability, must meet the criteria on one of the following areas:

Autism                                                           Orthopedic Impairment

Deaf-Blindness                                        Other Health Impairment

Developmental Delayed                     Specific Learning Disabilities

Hearing Impairment                              Traumatic Brain Injury

Intellectual Disability                             Visual Impairment
