Zickeyous M. Byrd, Ed.D

Conecuh County is thankful for the many opportunities we provide for our students: pre-k, advancement placement, career technical programs, dual enrollment, advanced technology, extracurricular activities and programs, the humanities, and junior ROTC, as well as thoughtful, caring, and motivated leaders, teachers, and support staff.  Our teachers and leaders are dedicated to ensuring that students are prepared for their chosen college or career pathway. Realizing this goal and our commitment to our students, we are proud of our strong partnerships with stakeholders who embrace and support our schools.

Information Technology

The Information Technology Cluster includes careers from four major pathways. These careers focus on design, development, support and management of hardware, software, and multimedia and systems integration services. IT careers are seen in virtually every sector of our economy including Finance, Business, Engineering, Manufacturing, Medical, Agriculture, and Communication just to name a few. These careers are challenging and change quickly. Preparation for an IT career should begin with a solid foundation in math and science and continue through additional high school IT courses, two-year community college, four-year universities, and/or technical institutions. The four IT career pathways are:

  • Information Support and Services
  • Interactive Media
  • Network Systems
  • Programming and Software Development
